[pdftex] (Kein Thema)

Hi,
 
maybe someone can help me with this.
I want to include a graphic into my pdf createt with latex.
The graphic was createt with gnuplot as *.eps ad convertet to *.pdf via  
gsview.
I included it the following way:
 
\usepackage[pdftex]{graphicx}

\begin{figure}[h]
\begin{center}
\includegraphics{plot}
\end{center}
\end{figure}
 
But in the pdf-file instead of the graphic i only get a box with the  
filename "plot" in it.
I tried this also with a *.jpg-file with the same result.
Has anyone an idea where could be the mistake.
