[metapost] is it possible to strike glyphs' paths?

[I tried my best to find this package (using all sorts of searches
on the word "outline" :) but failed.]

This package does its work (when dvips is the backend driver)
by embedding raw postscript code in the dvi file, which makes
its way to the ps file and temporarily redefines the "show"
command. It should surely be possible to do the same in metapost
using the withprescript and withpostscript commands.
