If I may suggest, TeXShop has a very nice feature for testing presentations:

Window->Full Screen (Old Method)

I added a keyboard shortcut (in System Preferences->Keyboard->Shortcuts), and use it all the time.

Note: to move between slides, use the down and up arrow keys (the right and left keys do not work).
