[OS X TeX] 2016 pretest and xdvi

Howdy,

I have heard of this problem recently. What happens if you convert the dvi to pdf (via dvips->ps2pdf or dvipdf) and view it in a standard pdf viewer (e.g., Preview, Skim, TeXShop, Adobe Reader, etc.)?
