Editing and typesetting files causes them to change frequently. I discovered last year that it is a big mistake to put files like that in Dropbox. I had a large number of figures for exams I was making (created in .tex) that got corrupted or disappeared altogether. I have since taken anything like that out of Dropbox and ended my 1TB account and went back to a free account.

I am not saying that happened to you, but you should check and see if one or more of our files is mucked up.
