[OS X TeX] TeXLive Utility package updating problem again - with fonts?

I just used the TeXLive Utility 0.96 app to update packages in TeXLive
2011. It upgraded them but then said it couldn't complete. The Log
includes these entries (with times deleted):

Warning tlu_ipctask[98417]	Scanning for Map entries
Warning tlu_ipctask[98417]	ERROR: The following map file(s) couldn't be
found:

On my single-user system, where I belong to Administrator group, I have
_all_ my local files in ~/Library/texmf rather than in
/usr/local/texlive/texmf-local. And of course I did run "sudo mktexlsr"
after putting them there and whenever I manually modified things. In
fact, I ran it after the previous TeXLive Utility run of updates, with
no error reported as I recall.

What's wrong and how to fix?
