Using latest snowleopard on MacBookPro and IMac. Discovered earlier beamer class files would not typeset, stopped at \begin{document}, so downloaded and installed MacTex2012. All well on Book, but took a long time to find that TexShop2012 had not been installed (?) in user Library on IMac, but replacing 2007 one from Book put that right. Now see that texmf/tex subfolders contain a lot of 2007/8 files, as does Main Library Tex/Local. Are these still operating, and if not which can be trashed? Nice to clean up, but concerned essential files for 2012 could be lost.
