Hmm...

I must have pulled a "Quick Draw McGraw" - now it works for me in the  
same way on 10.6.  Oh well.  Too many quick tests of TeXShop - I lost  
track of whether I was pulling the trigger or looking down the barrel...

Again, many thanks for tracking all of this down.
