[OS X TeX] reading the encoding of a file from its extended attributes

When a file has its encodings stored in its extended attributes as com.apple.TextEncoding, e.g., every plain text file saved by TextEdit 1.5 or better, then the attached application will read this attribute and display it as well as saving it to the clipboard.

Usage: Select the file in Finder and run the application preferably from the Dock.
Requirements: OS 10.5 or better

The corresponding shell command would be

xattr -l path
