Indeed...  Maybe that is or was Xcode's default in the silly inspector view
that forces you to choose a "Store Type" for all documents?

Have you tried -kill on the ls database?  If that doesn't work, I'd just
dump the offending app(s) if you're not using them.  Is there a chance that
Excalibur has embedded type information in it?  ISTR it's purely Carbon.
