[OS X TeX] Apple PDF viewer bugs on this shading

It looks fine for me, in both Preview and TeXshop.
This is whether I download the PDF from the website,
or after recompiling in TeXshop.

The attached image shows the view in Adobe Reader (left)
and TeXshop (right) under MacOS X 10.4.11.
I don't have any later OS version to try.

Not within the PDF, I'd say.
Did the original poster say what OS he was using?
