TeTeX, re-named GWTeX for the Mac, provides since 2006 Universal  
Binaries. That's when the Mac mini appeared and Mac OS X 10.4.5 had  
intel support.

I haven't checked how complete the files are, but once you've  
compiled XeTeX yourself, then should have them all: the C header  
files and also libkpathsea.a. In Work/texk/kpathsea/.libs...
