In the rare case that pdfTeX can read: no!


On the command line 'kpsewhich mtpro2.map' should list which MAP file  
fragment would be used. You could also use find and locate to  
determine which files 'mtpro2.map' exist in your system. Can you then  
check the dates and contents of these files and remove the inadequate  
ones? (Also run 'sudo texhash' if necessary!)

The same find and locate action could be carried out for "mt2syt"  
names – just to become sure that such objects exist. You could also  
grep for this name in the MAP file fragment to know for sure which  
file name stands for this TeX font name. If it stands for a different  
font file, then search for this one!
