[OS X TeX] How to install PDFbox on MacOS X 10.5.6?

Try: env PATH=/opt/local/bin:$PATH sudo port -v selfupdate

Then: env PATH=/opt/local/bin:$PATH sudo port -v install pdfbox


Explanation: root, the super-user, has not /opt/local/bin in $PATH.  
In it's obviously not inherited from your shell ... the env utility  
sets it.
