Okay, I just wanted to make sure that I didn't break it somehow!

Karl Berry said not to add those.  In fact, the quote was

"Indeed, I advise leaving generate out of your gui entirely.  Just  
forget it exists :)."

My own reason for omitting them is that I've seen many problems on  
this mailing list with updmap/updmap-sys, and I'm not competent to  
troubleshoot any problems that arise from their (mis)use.
