[OS X TeX] Beamer and MacTeX 2008

Hello all,

I apologize if this has been addressed on this list before, but I  
cannot seem to find an answer using a basic Google search.  I cannot  
get beamer 3.07 to work with MacTeX 2008.  I have the most basic  
example:

\documentclass{beamer}
\begin{document}

\begin{frame}
Frame 1
\end{frame}

\begin{frame}
Frame 2
\end{frame}
\end{document}

When I attempt to compile this, I get

[1{/usr/local/texlive/2008/texmf-var/fonts/map/pdftex/updmap/ 
pdftex.map}]
! Incompatible list can't be unboxed.
<to be read again>
                   }
l.10 \end{frame}

which is occurring at the end of the second slide.

Can anyone help me?
