[OS X TeX] Long line in \description environment

Ah, yes, but it not only happens unseen: I don't have to do it  
because others have prepared and automated the process for all of us.

Now by virtue of trying things just in case, I have discovered the  
cause of the bad vertical space between lines in the tabular  
environment: the preamble contained

\usepackage{pdfsync}

Using the little "%" did the trick. See the attached .pdf's.
