[OS X TeX] Solution to LaTeXit and MacTeX 2008 problem

I had the same problem on a brand new machine with fresh installs of 
TeXLive and LaTeXiT, so that can't be the whole story.   (On top of 
which, 1.15 doesn't have the same problem.)
