Greetings,

I recently downloaded and installed TeXLive-2008 (from MacTeX-2008),
and quickly ran into a problem. When compiling documents using
exam.cls, I get the following error:

> This is pdfTeXk, Version 3.1415926-1.40.9 (Web2C 7.5.7)
>
> [...]
>
> (/usr/local/texlive/2008/texmf-dist/tex/latex/exam/exam.cls
> Document Class: exam 2008/07/19 Version 2.3 by Philip Hirschhorn
> (/usr/local/texlive/2008/texmf-dist/tex/latex/base/ifthen.sty)
> (/usr/local/texlive/2008/texmf-dist/tex/latex/base/article.cls

The offending bit of my source file is:

> \printanswers
> \addpoints
>
> \begin{document}
> % The title block depends on whether we are printing the original
> quiz, or the solutions:
> \ifthenelse{\boolean{@printanswers}}

My first thought was that ifthen.sty was not being located, but the
log clearly shows that it is. So I don't understand why I'm getting
the "undefined control sequence" error.

Interestingly, the same source file compiles without complaint using
the TeXLive-2007 distribution (many thanks to the developers for
making it easy to switch back).

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Todd Hufnagel
