It's not an alias file in Mac OS X's HFS. On the command line you  
invoke:

	sudo ln -s /opt/local/bin/gs /usr/local/bin

This will create a symbolic or sym-link file /usr/local/bin/gs that  
points to /opt/local/bin/gs. The HFS alias file can't work like a sym- 
link. And vice versa.
