All is perhaps fine (sometime ago I also got the description for 
forward/inverse search like you):

Ctrl-c Ctrl-c (envokes the View command) -> Ret
from the LaTeX source in Emacs pops-up the pdf viewer to the 
corresponding line/spot in the odf file.

Command-Shift-click (alternatively, Command-click in PdfView) works only 
in the direction from the pdf spot to the corresponding location of the 
tex file in Emacs

Actually, Com-Shift-click from the pdf almost never takes the emacs cursor 
over the corresponding location, but about the end of its paragraph or 
environment. At least with me.
