Howdy,

I'm not quite sure I understand what you're getting at. TeXShop  
softwraps text so all of the text should always be visible in the  
window; there is no need for a horizontal scroll bar as far as I can  
tell.

If I click and drag a selection and I get to the bottom of the window  
the window automatically scrolls downward to extend the selection.

Finally, the most efficient way of making an extended selection is to  
click at the beginning of the selection (thus placing the insertion  
point/cursor there) and then Shift-Click at the end of the selection.  
This will select all text between those two points.
