I suspect this is the more important log; the basic failure is  
happening in the cgpdftops process, and then Preview isn't handling  
that well.

If you look at the backtrace in the cgpdftops log, I'm guessing  
you'll see that it has crashed somewhere within the font handling  
code. Diagnosing "broken" fonts can be a bit tricky as the specs are  
complex, and most software still works OK most of the time even if  
there are minor flaws in the fonts. Even if the font works OK in  
other programs, that doesn't guarantee it is correct; they may not be  
relying on some particular element of the font data in the same way.
