I have no problem whatsoever with that.

If I understand correctly, the resource fork is not for MacS in  
general but just for MY Mac in particular? (I had indeed noticed that  
when I move, every weekend, the magnum from my desktop to my  
portable, I have to use the green dot a lot. Now I know.)
