You've tried choosing Aquamacs Emacs as the PDFSync support preset in  
Preferences -> LaTeX?  I find preview->source works fine with GNU  
Emacs.  Haven't tried it with Aquamacs Emacs.

My only problem with Skim is that I don't seem able to bind the "Next  
Page" and "Previous Page" functions to "f" and "b", which are  
hardwired into my fingers from years of heavy xdvi use.  (TeXniscope  
allows you to remap keys, which is why I still use it on my Intel  
Macs, despite the fact that it is not a universal binary.)
