I do not know what You mean. I have installed Xcode.mpkg from my
system CD No. 1.

Do I really need X11 to run pdfinfo in the shell?

Sorry, but I am absolutely not familiar with programming, compiling
and all this mysterious things. I one of them who click onto a blue
button named [Install].

I've found a precompiled version of xpdf-tools for MacOS X PPC and I
have installed it knowing that I use an Intel Mac. The installer runs
seemlessly. But after that I typed into the Terminal which pdfinfo
and the Terminal has answered:

   albook:~ fv$ which pdfinfo
   no pdfinfo in /bin /sbin /usr/bin /usr/sbin

So I think this were not the way to install pdfinfo on my MacBook Pro.

Could You please explain the right way? Thanks a lot in advance!

Kind regards, Friedrich
