What is the real name of this glossary file? Including all
extensions. Does it end in ``.tex´´?

The bfname statement removes the extension ``.tex´´ from the file's
name – if its (last) extension is ``.tex´´. If its (last) extension
is not ``.tex´´, then the string contained in $bfname is the file's
complete and unchanged name.

Finally bibtex is run on <file name>.gls – where does this file come
from? From treatment in BibDesk? What is its complete name? Is the
BibDesk output file then opened in TeXShop and the engine above run
on it? Or is the engine run on the file before the engine's output is
transferred to BibDesk for a (final?) treatment? This all is such a
big mystery to me that I really would like to see some real names.
OmniGraffle allows to draw a flow chart – just in case all else
fails ...

Could you please fill in!
