[OS X TeX] Finder access to the system-wide local texmf directory

I had tried that but it didn't work: when in /Library/TeX/ 
Distributions = /usr/local/texlive/2007, Cmd-UpArrow brings back one  
level up in the symlink hierarchy, to /Library/TeX, not one level up  
in the actual directory hierarchy, to /usr/local/texlive.
