[OS X TeX] old pdf's vs. Reader 8

Hello!

I have just opened an old pdf with the new Adobe Reader 8, and
it looks terrible:

http://www.dimi.uniud.it/gorni/Analisi1/An1.2004.12.10.pdf

Large round parentheses are rendered as curly brackets,
minus signs as \ge, etc.

The same file looks as expected with Acrobat 7 and Preview and
Texnicscope.

The file was made with Textures and Acrobat 3.02 under MacOS 9.

I am afraid I'll have to refresh my pdf's from the TeX sources.

So much for pdf being an archival format!

Cheers,
Gianluca Gorni
