In short : sudo rm-r /usr/local/tetex

However, I would keep the old tetex safe for a while, just in case.  
Note anyway that I use both new distributions (the raw TeXLive 2007  
from MacTeX, and gwTeX), on two different machines, and for a while I  
have had no problems with any of them.

Il gwTeX is already installed, why not keeping it? It is pretty  
efficient and stable (and still maintained! It's only mail support  
which is discarded).
