Yes. There are a few manuals on this or that topic or on something
else (all have the same file name ``manual´´). To read the geometry
package's manual it's better to invoke

	texdoc geometry/manual

You can also invoke texdoc with ``-l´´, which will make it to show
only the candidate.

Texdoc works quite simple: it searches for all doc files in the ls-R
files that exactly match the argument given (i.e.: kpsewhich '-
format=TeX system documentation' manual). So its success depends on
ls-R files up to date, ``sudo maketexlsr´´ or ``sudo texhash´´ should
have been run recently, at least after changes to the TeX
installation. For example, ``texdoc man´´ won't find anything, but
``texdoc manual´´ will (in a distribution from last year):

	doc/bzip2/manual.html
	doc/fonts/cjhebrew/manual.pdf
	doc/latex/base/manual.pdf
	doc/latex/geometry/manual.pdf
	doc/latex/hyperref/manual.html
	doc/latex/hyperref/manual.pdf
	doc/latex/pdfslide/manual.pdf
	doc/latex/pdftricks/manual.pdf
	doc/latex/ppower4/manual.pdf
	doc/latex/texpower/manual.pdf
	doc/xmltex/base/manual.html

It will not find:

	doc/generic/pgf/version-for-pdftex/en/pgfmanual.pdf
	doc/latex/pb-diagram/pb-manual.dvi

because only part of the file name is ``manual´´. (Or ``man´´.)
