This is not exactly what Jan Rosinski is asking for. "\nofiles"  
prevents the creation of the .aux, that may be needed for cross- 
references (\label and \ref). Jan is asking for some device that  
cleans up the directory once the job is finished. For example, when  
the main file is closed. It could also be on a "on demand" basis.

Often enough, I end up with a directory containing 15 files of each  
type : .tex, .aux, .pdf, .log. I have to sort them "par type" (in  
French), then to put the .aux, .log, .ind into the basket. Then I  
come back to the alphabetical order.

I understand this can be done by an Apple script or a Unix script,  
but I am not sure that all of us have time to learn Applescript or  
Unix. And how would you manage so the script can be called from  
anywhere : by programming an new jey-combination ? Is it possible ?
