[OS X TeX] updating everythin

Since TeX isn't yet "modular" (like, maybe, MikTeX, or for example  
X11R7) and cannot be updated from CVS or with svn or git, it's  
recommended to keep personal or local updates small: against faulty  
software, for to have a particular feature available, because a  
particular version of some package is needed by another extra package  
one really needs. And keep a list! It should contain version numbers  
and locations of personal/local and systematic package. Although it's  
not always easy to retrieve the version numbers, or all locations ...
