[OS X TeX] TeX based on TeX Live release

Ok, I just reconfigured the Texlive package so as to use TeXLive rather
than teTeX (I used i-Installer to do this). then I added a new user
(called 'temp'), logged in, ran terminal and typed 'texdoc -l index'.
Here's the result:

Last login: Fri Nov 3 13:55:52 on console
Welcome to Darwin!
wildebeest:~ temp$ texdoc -l index
Can't find documentation for `index'
wildebeest:~ temp$

Does this mean the problem is in the TeXLive documentation?
