Going beyond TeX (was Re: [OS X TeX] Using OTF-fonts for TeX)

For those who're curious, I was specifically alluding to Achim  
Blumensath's ``ANT is not TeX'' project, which I'm still trying to  
get compiled on both my Fujitsu pen slate (currently stopped at a  
stack overflow) and on Mac OS X (can't get mlgmp installed, setting  
it to use Float or Num doesn't stop the complaint of it being missing)
