gentle persons,

Compilation was done on a powerpc and I didn't had the resources to
test this fully on an Intel-based Mac. So far I received 2 reports
that the executable will not start up on an Intel-based Mac because
of a "division by zero"-error (visible in the crash reporter log of
TeXMaker). The error is linked to some program icons - but apparently
gracefully ignored on a PPC machine. When I have access to an MacTel
I'll try to investigate this further. Maybe you can check the crash
reporter log to see wether this is the cause of your trouble running it.

Does this mean that non of the Qt4.1 apps is working? Can you kindly
try to start for example the Designer from /usr/local/Trolltech/
Qt-4.1.2/bin ?
Presumably it is better to contact me directly for further debugging…

this is a ppc executable which must be executed in Rosetta.
