To my knowledge, powerpoint does not accept pdf images. You can paste  
them into powerpoint but they are converted into (ugly) bitmaps.

I wouldn't call this a "feature". I wouldn't call it a "bug" either,  
since pdf is not some obscure format. We are left with "property".
