The altpdflatex script by default creates a PDF file. Therefore it's
called "altpdflatex," an alternative to the pdflatex programme. You
either need Ghostscript with ps2pdf13 or you need to alter the
altpdflatex script to do the PS to PDF conversion with other means.
Mac OS X offers pstopdf (in /usr/bin) as in 'pstopdf <file.ps> [-o
<file.pdf>]' or kind of a CUPS related wrapper: /System/Library/
Printers/Libraries/convert -i application/postscript -j application/
pdf -f <complete path to file.ps> -o <complete path to file.pdf>.
