You'll love this: with "RE" off, Search/Replace works; with it on, I  
get the above behavior for "plain" words; for TeX-like words, I get  
the above behavior with "RE" on, and of course, I can't test it with  
"RE" off.

I hope that sentence doesn't foul up your input processors...
