[OS X TeX] converting jpg to eps

I had not heard of the eps2:foo.eps option with convert. Were is it
documented?

When I did a "man convert" I was referred to web sites, but none mention
eps2. My version seems to be 6.2.5 (or whatever i-installer did last
month). I would appreciate more knowledge about what eps2 does.

I had not used convert because I thought it always went through the
internal format and generally made larger files than jpeg2ps. I have
occasionally had problems with jpeg2ps, and it is because the .jpg file
was compressed in some way. As it processes the file, it tells me that
the file may not work in some PS interpreters, which is indeed the case.
I generally read it into photoshop and do a save-as to baseline
)standard).

Also, I find that when I use grab and save it as a .tiff file (default),
and I use tif2eps, I get a statement that it first ignores some things and
second is saving as 72 dpi. I use the photoshop method to get around that
one too.
