The version that was available until recently was very unstable. The
new beta from two weeks ago might be better. Adrian Robert described
a few improvements. I had worked last year with the GNU Emacs 20.7
based version a long time and was very content with it. It was fast
and easy to handle, that I almost forgot about the X11 version. But
it could not have AUCTeX ...

The Aqua side has advantages, like choosing colours, fonts, the
distance between the lines. But it also has disadvantages: I cannot
control which font is chosen to display a glyph that is not in the
main font, this is handled in Aqua. So Unicode encoded files can look
like graphics.

In July I'll have time to check it again. It's not forgotten!
