[OS X TeX] MacTeX installer and man pages

The only reason to consider leaving both directories in place is the  
one I mentioned earlier: if you are given to installing packages  
(particularly of the open source variety), they tend to variously  
drop man pages in both places.  To keep your sanity, it may make  
sense to change the config file (that is what it's there for, after  
all).  Presumably this is one of the files that is retained during an  
archive-and-update install (although an install of a new version of  
the system may suggest a reinstall of those /usr/local things as well).
