Hi Richard,

this list is probably not the worst place for collecting TeXShop  
feature requests, I hope.

1) Something very small but yet very useful would be a kind of  
"Balance" command.
You might know it: The cursor stands right in some text, you press  
"Balance" and the entire area around the cursor gets highlithed: from  
the closest opening bracket to the corresponding closing bracket.
Very useful!


2) Something even smaller would be the ability to change the  
MouseMode selection by keystroke:
When I am in the preview window at 200% (and Magnify is my Default  
MouseMode) it would be nice just to hit "S" in order to use "Scroll"  
and move the PDF to another detail and then hit "M" in order to use  
"Magnify" MouseMode again.


3) Another thing that is very useful in everyday life are  
"Filters" (as they are called in texteditor AlphaX/Tk).
These are lists of Search_and_Replace actions, with or without  
RegularExpressions, for example:
p. ([0-9])	p.\,\1	1
!! SYNTAX :
!!  searchString    replacementString    [option]
!!    where the three arguments are separated by one or more  
tabulations.
!!    The option is a (possibly empty) string containing 0 or 1 and/or
!!    one of the letters i and m with the following signification :
!!        0 (or nothing) for an ordinary textual search (default)
!!        1 for a search with regular expressions
!!        i for a case insensitive search
!!        m to match words exactly (not a substring of a word)

And finally, when this "Filters" feature is combined with a "Fileset"  
feature (also used in AlphaX/Tk) then this might really help you to  
save a lot of time in everyday typesetting: You can do all those  
Search_and_Replace actions (that simply have to be done) for a set of  
several files at one command!
