Strange thing is, though using the latest TeXLive i-package(2006/12/09 
22:43:38), /usr/texbin is not working for me (in essence there is no 
such dir in my setup)

Just to check I tried another 'Configure Only' session, but still no 
/usr/texbin.

Using /usr/local/gwTeX/bin/powerpc-apple-darwin-current works like a 
charm, so no need to panic ;-)
I am just curious..
