[OS X TeX] inputting figures that are pfd files

Just to be sure: did you try including another picture? Can you open  
the picture you are trying to use (fos.pdf) with Preview.app? Have  
you tried viewing the first (before the cropping) document with Acrobat?

 From what I read it seems that fos.pdf is causing problems with the  
pdf engine used in OSX
