[OS X TeX] MacTeX Distribution test: XeTeX broken

Folks,

I woke up.

I teach, and then four hours from now I'll fix this. Thanks to Jonathan
for prompt debugging. Gerben actually told me about texconfig-sys
in reference to  TeXShop, but I failed to notice that it also
plays a role in the MacTeX package.
