Howdy,

If you are using the i-installer version of TeX (gwTeX) you should  
have a version of pdftricks.sty in /Library/teTeX/share/texmf.gwtex/ 
tex/latex/pdftricks/.

Actually, /Library/teTeX/ is a symbolic link to /usr/local/teTeX/.
