[OS X TeX] use of bibtex

Dear all,

thanks for all your suggestions; they were very helpful. I think  
learning xml to handle such a relatively small database would be  
overkill, but I was very impressed by the IMSBib project. I guess  
I'll have to look into it more carefully than before: I want to use  
my entries for TeXing, so something like Refbase might not be ideal,  
but in the end, making a custom bibliography including only certain  
items from a complete bibtex file may not be a simplification of my  
workflow. So thanks for all your philosophical and technical thoughts  
about the topic!
