[OS X TeX] Database Utility for Bibtex Databases

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone can help me locate a tool for managing bibtex
databases.

I am looking for a program which will allow me to the following:

(i) Search a bibtex database, returning a list of entries, and then
export/print this list of results as a .bib file.

(ii)	Define subsets of a database

In generally, what I'm trying to do is have one big bibtex database,
for which I can define task/project/discipline-specific subsets, and
which I can use for generating smaller .bib files on the fly.

I have looked at Bibdesk, Jabref, and Barracuda, and as far as I can
tell these will not do what I'm describing. My concern is less with
_creating_ entries (for which I use jabref or do it by hand), and more
with organizing and accessing them.

thank you,

Fred Hoyt
