[OS X TeX] Default Truetype Fonts?

But is that possible?
I thought to embed or not to embed was set once and for all by updmap. 
Certainly it needs a super user to run the command so a \write18 
command couldn't facilitate it...

I agree with the others: the size of the fonts is negligible these days 
and there's no downside to embedding them, always. Perhaps if the fonts 
were 2 MB unicode monsters this would be a different story, but they're 
not.

Vote 1 for always embed :)
